After several years of faithful and fruitful ministry, Barnabas Aid New Zealand (BANZ) has made the decision to wind down the food.gives programme and close our Auckland warehouse.

This marks the end of a significant chapter in our work – one that was made possible by your incredible support.

A heartfelt thank you

To every church congregation, school community, youth group and individual who took the .gives ministry to heart – thank you.

Your donations, prayers and compassion have allowed us to send over 2,000 boxes of nutritious food and other essential aid to suffering and persecuted

Christians worldwide. You’ve demonstrated Christ’s love in action, and we’re deeply grateful.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the dedicated volunteers who gave their time and energy at our seven collection hubs and our Auckland warehouse. Your mahi (work) has made a lasting difference.

A special thanks go to Warren Christie, our warehouse manager, who tirelessly packed, sorted and processed donations. We’re delighted that Warren will continue serving with BANZ as a regional coordinator.

How you made a difference

Here is how your generosity helped our suffering brothers and sisters:

March 2022: A 40ft container filled with food.gives boxes and emergency aid was shipped to Ukrainian Christians caught in the conflict.

Late 2022: In response to a devastating volcanic eruption, tsunami and earthquake in Tonga, we sent enough food to support 500 Christian families (around 5,000 people) for two months.

Early 2025: A 20ft container of food boxes was on its way to Port Vila, Vanuatu, following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in December 2024.

Each shipment was a testimony to God’s provision – and your willingness to be His hands and feet.

What’s next?

Though the food.gives programme has concluded, our mission at BANZ is far from over. We remain committed to supporting our persecuted and suffering Christian family across the globe.
